Bee Magic.

Small but effective.
Community driven.
Dedicated work ethic.
Distiller of life's sweetness.
Steward of nourishment,
and selfless master of spreading bright ideas
& making potent honey.
We bow to these lessons & this medicine.

Bees are Indispensable Allies In Our Ecosystems,
And They Are Disappearing.
Bees Are Responsible For Pollinating
Over A Third Of Our Food,
While Helping Maintain A World Rich In Biodiversity.

In short, Our Lives Depend On Bees...

“The fact is that of the 100 crop species
that provide 90 per cent of the world’s food,

over 70 are pollinated by bees.”
-UN report.

Since the late 1990s, beekeepers around the world have observed the mysterious and sudden disappearance of bees, and report unusually high rates of decline in honeybee colonies.

Bees make more than honey. In Europe alone, the growth of over 4,000 vegetables depends on the essential work of pollinators. But currently, more and more bees are dying. The main reasons for global bees' decline are industrial agriculture, parasites/pathogens and climate change. The loss of biodiversity, destruction of habitat and lack of forage due to monocultures and bee-killing pesticides are particular threats for honeybees and wild pollinators. It is becoming increasingly evident that some insecticides, at concentrations applied routinely in the current chemical-intensive agriculture system, exert clear, negative effects on the health of pollinators – both individually and at the colony level. The United States has seen a 40% (Yikes!!) loss of commercial honeybees since 2006.

There Is So Much We Can Do!

Please act if you can.

Donate

Give to organizations like Defenders of Wildlife, specifically their pollinator campaigns, who work tirelessly to educate, lobby and protect the wild and all our relations there. Bombilore will be donating 1% of our profits to the best in Pollinator protection & activism projects every quarter. We’ll also be doing an annual, Springtime drive to raise money & awareness.

Plant A Bee Garden

Plant a native flower garden in your backyard, front yard, even in a window box! Welcome the bees. Find the best bee plants for your region. Feeling ambitious? Consider raising bees! You'll get free honey from those generous souls, after days spent pollinating food and flowers in your area! If you can’t raise your own bees, consider to Sponsor a Hive with the Honeybee Conservancy.

Go Organic

Perhaps the most important step you can take. Choose organic products and organic gardening. Many resources exist to help you, even on a tight budget. Start by using only organic fertilizers, pesticides, and both in and outdoor cleaning products. Especially for the bees, we want to avoid products containing Neonicotinoids

Spread the Word

Learn more about this wonderful species and the threats against them. Talk to friends, family, students, and leaders in your community about this epidemic. Start and maintain the conversation. Call your congress & state reps! Tell them this IS an issue for all beings. Put your emphasis on food crisis when you speak to them. Ask them: Can you imagine a world without honey?
