On the Fear of Being Seen

THE KEY THING IS TO NOT RUN. The key thing is to stand perfectly still, chest pounding, and face what you've encountered~ in yourself, in others, or on the road home to your one true life.

If you run, you send a signal that something is terribly amiss, and you get chased by your own Fear Bear.

Taking its queue from you, Fear Bear starts running too, after you. Fear Bear runs surprisingly fast, despite its size. It will catch up eventually and take you out.

But when you just stand still and hold reverent gaze with Fear Bear—who knows a secret about you that you really need to hear— then some understanding begins to be woven in the tentative, holy space between you two.

Quietly whisper into the silent forest air that you mean no harm. Whisper it again, and mean it.
That's the safest thing to do.
That's how you become both Predator and Prey.
That's how you get Fear Bear to tell you Her secret.
The secret you need to encounter.
The secret you need to dance with, like Huntress & Hunted, until you 𝒷𝑜𝓉𝒽 feel safe enough to ever so slowly back away from each other, or peacefully surrender, or become co-scavengers in the night.

Most people run.
Don't run.
Slowly turn and face the One you happened upon, the One whose been stalking you for miles. The One you've been secretly hoping to finally be found by.

If this particular 🐻FearBear🐻 is a mighty Bear within you, it's also a mighty power. I guarantee it.
